Bathroom Cleaning Tips to Help You Save Time

The Maids • Feb 22, 2012

You barely have enough time to make dinner, yet alone clean the bathroom. So, if you do not have a professional cleaner who cleans your house on a weekly basis, your house, especially the bathroom, gets dirty fast! When it comes to bathroomcleaning , we have some tips to help you save time.

Keep your bathroom clean without much effort

The bathroom is arguably the most used room in the entire house.  Let’s be honest, it gets dirty. Toothpaste splatters the mirrors and counter. With the water and the heat from the shower, this space is also most susceptible to mildew.

Well, there are a few things that you can do on a daily basis to reduce the germs and mess and ultimately make the cleaning processes easier and faster for you in the long term.

Take a look at these tips provided by Angies List. They have great advice which will help your bathroom cleaning run smoothly.

Shower Most people in the family take a shower or bath once a day, sometimes twice. You might think that because there is so much water in the shower it would stay clean. However, the water that sits in the shower can create mold if it is not removed. Using a clean cloth, wipe the walls of the shower in the morning to get rid of excess water. You can hang a shower caddy in the corner of the shower that will hold shampoo and conditioner bottles. When a bottle is empty, throw it away instead of letting it sit there.

Toilet Everyone in the home uses the toilet in the bathroom. Not only does the toilet get dirty, but it collects germs. House cleaning professionals and plumbers warn against drop-in tank cleaners and air fresheners, but you can opt for an in-bowl cleaning device or agent. This will help keep the bowl fresh and clean after every flush. Once a week you should use a toilet brush and scrub the inside rim of the toilet with a disinfecting cleaner.

Medicine cabinets Cleaning the medicine cabinet is the easiest job in the bathroom. To clean the mirror, use a soft cloth and window cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the glass and gently wipe it away. Monitor the bottles in the cabinet. Throw away any medications that are expired or bottles that are empty.

Floors Unless the floor in the bathroom has anything spilled on it, a simple sweep of the floor will usually keep it clean. You can use a broom or dust mop to go over the floor and collect the dust that has gathered. Any rugs in the bathroom can be washed as they get dirty.
Counters Clutter can accumulate on the counter in the bathroom if you don’t maintain the area. Organize the counter in a way that allows easy access to the things the family uses on a daily basis. Place the toothpaste and toothbrushes together and the colognes together. Other items can be grouped accordingly. Wipe the area dry to avoid mildew buildup.

Maximize the time that you do not have. Follow these tips and bathroom cleaning will run fast and efficiently. We mean it when we say that taking a few minutes each day to clean your bathroom will produce visible results.
