Oven Care Tips

The Maids • Sep 19, 2014

The oven is one of the most important appliances in any modern kitchen. It can serve several purposes, coming in handy any time you need to heat or bake. Therefore, proper maintenance and care is essential. Just like the rest of your kitchen appliances, the oven needs regular cleaning to ensure years of great service. Here are some tips to keep this home appliance in top condition and working at optimum level:

Deal with the spills immediately

Use a baking sheet to line the bottom of the oven if you are cooking food that can spill over. Wipe the spills immediately with a sponge dampened with a solution containing water and vinegar in equal amounts. You can also use aluminum foil to line the bottom of the oven to clean it up easily. Take the foil out and toss it in your trash bin after the oven cools down.

Plan for regular cleaning

You need to schedule time to clean your oven depending on how much you use it. You can clean it every week, once every two weeks, or once a month. No matter how often you clean, doing it regularly helps to prevent the buildup that may be hard to remove when it hardens.

Steps for Cleaning

  1. Remove the trays, pans and racks before you start cleaning the oven chamber.
  2. Soak these removable parts in soapy water before rinsing and drying them.
  3. Wipe the insides with a cloth and warm soapy water to keep the grime from building up.

The above tips will help you keep your oven clean and working well. However, if you would like assistance with your house cleaning needs, do not hesitate to contact The Maids if Rhode Island, in Coventry, who would be happy to help!
